Whitecar Coaches
Details
Whitecar Coaches was founded in 1926 based on the principles of offering excellent service, combined with extreme safety, at reasonable prices to the public of the Atherton Tablelands.
Our current fleet includes modern air-conditioned coaches which ply the Kennedy Highway offering 18 return services during a seven day week between Atherton, Tolga, Walkamin, Mareeba, Kuranda, and Cairns including drop-offs to airport, railway station, hospitals and bus depots. There are connections available between Ravenshoe and Herberton and along the Wheelbarrow Way to Chillagoe.
Whitecar Coaches services are accessible to members of the general public including pensioners, seniors, university, high and primary students, with concessions available to Queensland Transport approved concession card holders. These coaches are also available for special outings and charters covering much of North Queensland.
We operate school runs from Koah, Myola, Freedom County to the Kuranda High School and traverse the Kuranda Range to various Cairns schools, also between Irvinebank / Jumna Creek and Walsh River to Herberton High School and Atherton High School. We also service the Catholic boarding school, Mt St Bernard`s College, situated in Herberton, by conducting a school run for their day students, between Mareeba, Walkamin, Tolga and Atherton.
We have evolved to also include transportation of tourists and backpackers who travel to Atherton, and the Cairns Highlands. Local tourist attractions include Lake Barrine, Lake Eacham, Mt Hypipamee Crater, Curtain Fig Tree, the Rocky Creek WWII Memorial Park, and many B & B`s in our area.
